Role Description
As a Hairdressing Educator/Assessor at Cheynes Training, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment to a cohort of apprentices across our Exeter and Plymouth academies.
You will support learners through their full apprenticeship journey, combining practical teaching with knowledge delivery, regular reviews, and on-programme assessment. The role also involves working closely with salon employers to ensure a joined‑up approach to development, progress, and performance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering engaging, industry‑relevant training aligned to the Level 2 Hair Professional standard
* Supporting apprentices to develop both their practical skills and underpinning knowledge
* Carrying out regular progress reviews, setting clear targets, and tracking Off‑the‑Job training
* Assessing learner work in line with awarding organisation requirements
* Preparing learners for End Point Assessment (EPA), including professional discussions and practical exams
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with salon partners
* Ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and Ofsted‑ready
* Contributing to the ongoing development of curriculum and resources
This role requires a strong industry background, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for developing the next generation of hair professionals.
Qualifications
* Level 2 and Level 3 Hairdressing qualifications (essential)
* Barbering experience or qualifications (desirable)
* Teaching qualification (e.g. AET or equivalent) – preferred
