About the Role:
As the Teacher of English, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will teach students of varying abilities, helping them develop a love for literature and language, while also fostering essential skills in communication, writing, and critical thinking.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive and innovative English department, where you will have access to excellent resources and be able to make a real impact on student outcomes. You will be expected to plan, deliver, and assess lessons effectively, ensuring students progress in their English studies while developing their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English.
- Develop and implement engaging, challenging, and creative learning activities that inspire students.
- Use a range of teaching methods and strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
- Assess and track student progress, providing feedback and support to help students improve.
- Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, ensuring it is both inspiring and inclusive.
- Provide pastoral support to students, helping to build a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with the English department and other teaching staff to promote excellence and improve student outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and school events as required.
About You:
We are looking for a dynamic and committed individual with a passion for teaching English and a dedication to student success. The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in English or a related subject, along with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum.
- A creative and engaging approach to teaching, with the ability to inspire students and make learning enjoyable.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
