Pharmacy Technician (ACT and Medicines Management)
Band 5 – Permanent – Full‑time – Nevill Hall Hospital (NHH).
Job Summary
We are looking for an accredited checking and medicines management Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team. The role supports medical wards, mental health wards, outpatient services and dispensary sessions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, conscientiousness and adaptability are required. Welsh speaking is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide medicines‑management support across multiple sections.
* Work across medical wards, mental‑health wards, outpatient services and dispensary sessions.
* Participate in weekend and bank‑holiday rota duties.
* Maintain accurate dispensing records and perform checking duties.
* Support patient medication reviews and drug‑history taking.
Qualifications and Experience
* Accredited Checking Technician qualification, or currently working towards it.
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent).
* Register with the General Pharmaceutical Council or eligible to join.
* Experience in medicines‑management and hospital pharmacy environment.
* Evidence of continuing education and personal development.
Desirable
* Welsh language skills.
* NVQ Expert Witness.
* Basic knowledge of NHS functions.
* Pre‑registration pharmacy experience (second year of study).
* Additional relevant qualifications (e.g. BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science).
