Job Overview
Oversee and improve the quality and reliability of our chemical dosing systems, GRP products, Showers, Hose reels and any other products identified by your supervisor.
This role includes developing and implementing quality control processes, managing compliance with industry standards, and introducing innovative solutions to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include establishing a serialisation system, implementing quality gates at each workstation, and providing regular reporting to ensure transparency in quality control.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Process Control:
o Develop, implement, and monitor quality control processes for the products in line with the Inspection & Testing Plan.
o Ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulatory standards.
o Design and implement a serialisation system to track and document each product throughout the production lifecycle.
o Establish quality gate checkpoints at each workstation to verify that products meet quality requirements before progressing to the next production stage.
Reporting & Documentation:
o Create a curate a database of each products progress through the factory. Generate a weekly report that provides a comprehensive status update on each product in production, documenting progress, any issues, and steps taken to resolve them.
o Summarize snags (identified issues or non-conformances) within the weekly report, detailing their nature, corrective actions taken, and any impact on production timelines.
o Prepare and maintain additional documentation related to quality control, such as checklist templates, test procedures, inspection reports, compliance certifications, and audit findings.
o Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards, including WIMES, and each water authority's WIMES amendment or specific suite of standards, ISO 9001, and any other safety, health, and environmental guidelines.
Testing & Inspection:
o Oversee testing and inspection of materials and components for chemical dosing systems, ensuring compliance with quality requirements at each stage of production.
o Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues at any quality gate checkpoint.
o Conduct root cause analysis on non-conformance issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
o Identify opportunities for process improvement within quality control and manufacturing, with a focus on serialisation and quality gate effectiveness.
o Analyse data from quality gate inspections and weekly reports to identify trends and prioritize improvements.
o Stay informed on advancements in quality engineering and serialisation practices, integrating best practices into Colloide's quality systems.
Collaboration & Support:
o Act as a technical resource for engineering and production teams, providing guidance on serialisation, quality gate processes, and snag resolution.
o Coordinate closely with project managers, suppliers, and clients to ensure that all quality standards are met across every stage of production.
o Conduct training for staff on serialisation systems, quality gate procedures, and reporting protocols.
Requirements
A full engineering degree, preferably with 2:1 grade or above.
A minimum of 6 months work experience within an Engineering manufacturing environment
Analytical skills
Experience / knowledge of problem-solving methodology.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Strong IT skills
