This position is based between Conway Medical Centre, Harehills andChurch Street Surgery, Hunslet.
The post holder works under direct supervision of the Practice NurseLead. They will undertake tasks, including, blood pressure checks,venepuncture, ECGs and basic dressings providing highest quality care for ourpatients. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meetthe needs of patients, following policy and procedures.
Main duties of the job
Undertake, record and followguidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training
Measuring and recording followingphysiological measurements in routine presentations: Blood pressure Pulse rate and rhythm Temperature Height and weight Body Mass Index Visual acuity Venepuncture ECG Basic dressings New Patient Health checks, long-term conditions, providing chaperone services
Ordering/maintaining stock levelsand control
Prepare and maintain environmentsduring and after patient care interventions
Assist in raising awareness ofhealth and well-being, and how it can be promoted
Give accurate and appropriateinformation to patients and groups within own competence
Record information and activitiesundertaken with patients and carers in an accurate and timely fashion usingmanual or computer systems as appropriate
Maintain confidentiality orinformation relating to patients, relatives, staff and the practice
Understand and follow therequirements of confidentiality (including the Data Protection Act) and theFreedom of Information Act and to refer on any queries as appropriate.
Follow Practice policy regardingthe use of email and computer tasks as the main internal method of non-verbalcommunication and the use of the intranet and the internet as the main sourceof internal and external information
