Overview
Ex-NTP Teacher with core subject focus (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for young people with SEND, SEMH, and other additional educational needs required in Somerset / Bristol. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the needs we support. Our mission is to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN/SEND and other needs.
We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors who are passionate about transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Somerset / Bristol. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring with a variety of learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approach to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Young people are referred by local authorities and schools and require support in their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Deliver engaging sessions meeting the young person’s needs and advancing educational and social-emotional development
* Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback
Requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD or other needs
* Safeguarding knowledge and understanding
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available at cost)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with right to work, including for remote/online work
It is a strict requirement that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.
Employment status
* Engagement as a Worker for short-term assignments as they arise
* Contract for service with PAYE payment
* No fixed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
