Titan are currently working with a very successful manufacturing company based in Dumbarton who are looking for a Design Engineer to join their team.
The purpose of the role is to provide specialist technical support, deliver projects on target, on time and within budget. Process and produce technical information to other sections, whilst maintaining and processing throughput of workload in a timely and efficient manner using approved company software. Check, document, record and file drawings and information. Role responsibilities -
Review and process all customer specifications, drawings and customer needs regarding control systems and associated equipment
Prepare project deliverables for approval by Controls Engineering Manager
Design and program control systems, including PLCs and associated equipment
Develop and maintain healthy relationships with clients and co-workers to achieve current and future objectives
Deliver multiple projects on target and cost effectively, with contract commercial awareness
Design & Develop electrical control systems and panels
Electrical & Instrumentation circuit drawing using CAD package
PLC programming, HMI graphics design and programming
Communications & networks (ProfiBus-DP, ProfiNet, Modbus-TCP/IP, Ethernet etc)
Control System testing and Panel testing in-house
Produce timely and accurate technical information to other sections of the dept / company
Design and develop control systems to accommodate emerging technologies and new product development
Design system flow and logic diagrams specific to project needs
Fault finding in industrial machines and control systems
Understanding and troubleshooting legacy PLC code
Develop working relationship with clients in order to achieve company targets and meet personal objectives
Requirements -
Relevant experience in Electrical Project Engineering and PLC programming
Professional Electrical qualification, minimum HNC (degree qualification preferred) in Electrical / Engineering discipline
Experience in using CAD, ELCAD, EPlan an advantage
