C & D Transport, founded in 1987, has been providing quality distribution services for over 35 years. With depots in Chard & Martock, Somerset, near major routes in the South West, and as a founding member of the Palletforce network, we operate over 100 depots, a fleet of more than 3,000 vehicles, and 4 million sq ft of warehousing. We handle thousands of pallets nightly.
Due to increased workload, we are seeking experienced Class 1 & 2 HGV / LGV Drivers to join our team. Candidates should have relevant driving experience, preferably with multi-drop routes, and a solid understanding of legislation, tachograph procedures, and load security. You will play a key role in deliveries across the South-West and nationally.
Key Duties
1. Driving a variety of Category C+E/C vehicles
2. Loading/unloading vehicles and securing loads
3. Performing vehicle checks
4. Completing paperwork accurately
5. Data entry into the Alliance freight management system
6. Reporting issues to the traffic office
7. Operating vehicle systems including tail lifts, pallet trucks, and in-cab tech
About You
1. Class C & C+E Driving Licence
2. Excellent customer service and communication skills
3. Map reading ability
4. Knowledge of driver hours legislation, tachograph, and load restraint procedures
5. Experience with pallet networks or Palletforce (advantageous)
6. Multi-drop driving experience (advantageous)
7. Possession of CPC Training, Driver Medicals, Eye Tests; benefits include uniform, bonus scheme, and overtime opportunities
8. Electric pump trucks assigned to each vehicle

Schedule & Experience
* 10-hour day shifts, Monday to Friday
* Minimum 48 hours per week
* 1+ year multi-drop driving experience (preferred)
* 1+ year driving a goods vehicle (preferred)

* Driver CPC (required)
