Job Description: The operational excellence manager acts as functional lead, subject matter expert, process & blueprint owner to successfully deploy operational excellence in the local operation. They are accountable to ensure annual diagnostics are performed at required level, to highlight opportunities across the site (delivery, maturity, competency), ensure the site has improvement plans in place and the site shows YOY progress and delivery of results. This role also provides technical support and direction, to a given set of site managers, to ensure that those teams provide the support, guidance and momentum to their teams which delivers annual business plan savings and ensures operational excellence culture is developed and embedded at site. This role is accountable for- · Standardisation of approach across site and the deployment of agreed operational excellence blueprints, processes, methods and tools · Deliver operational excellence leadership training to site leadership teams · Ensuring the site perform diagnostic/assessments to highlight opportunities for improvement - in line with budget setting cycle · Ensuring the site is tracking benefits, through leading the funding for growth (FFG) agenda- ensuring all activity is tracked · Leading and supporting cross site improvement projects that are higher in complexity or require cross functional involvement · Ensuring strong site governance is in place for improvement activities · Ensuring site consistently, to blueprint standard - set up and sustain the site SIM/ business performance management process to ensure robust performance management is in place at all levels to cover – handover, SIC, Daily, Weekly, Monthly intervals and aligned to central blueprint standard · Ensuring all site consistently, to blueprint standard- Deploy best practice operational excellence techniques within the operations function through design, coaching and training of staff (eg SIM, 5S, PSG, Tpm) to reduce waste and non-value add activity/cost and processes are aligned to central blueprint standards · Ensure central CI programmes are aligned to local requirements · Constantly across site - perform operational excellence maturity assessments in line with central defined process and ensure site improvement plan is in place and progressing. This role is key in benchmarking and validating scoring and thus ensuring focus is in correct areas for development · Performing regular site process confirmations together with the site team to support the development of a CI culture · Competency development - establish competency requirements for identified roles across the business and performing training needs analysis to ensure a site competency (for operational excellence) plan is in place. This roles focus will be management & leadership level · For operational excellence, based on training needs analysis, ensure that employees are trained to the required standards and are effectively audited and signed off as competent To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience in OE within a manufacturing environment and have the ability to work at both strategic and operational levels.
