Working within the Energetics and Materials Team, you would be responsible for the research, development, clearance, and manufacture of materials and products to meet demanding requirements.
These include physical, chemical, thermal, mechanical, and ballistic properties under extreme conditions of temperature, pressure, vibration.
Candidates will attend specialist training courses and conferences, alongside on-the-job training, to develop their expertise and necessary skills.
Technical Responsibilities - Energetics Chemist
* Develop and monitor propellant to meet energy, mechanical, and ballistic requirements.
* Improve, drive efficiencies, and standardize manufacturing processes.
* Qualify propellant and materials according to defence and internal standards.
* Manage materials (stocks, quality, performance, legislation) to meet strict design requirements.
* Support and improve manufacturing processes.
* Qualify materials for manufacturing.
* Clearance of ingredients and finished materials.
* Research and test materials using known and novel processing methods, including mixing technology.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Chemistry.
* Interest and aptitude in chemistry/material science, with high self-motivation.
* Practical experience in a disciplined/technical manufacturing, process, or lab environment.
