Are you a Graduate Civil Engineer or Environmental Engineer with a passion for sustainable infrastructure and public utilities? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Civil / Environmental Engineer to join a leading Engineering Consultancy delivering professional design and project management services to the water and wastewater industry in Northern Ireland.
About the Role:
You'll be working on high-impact wastewater infrastructure projects as part of a long-term partnership with Northern Ireland Water (NIW). With over 10 years of collaboration, our client has a strong presence in the delivery of water and wastewater network projects. The successful candidate will be co-located within NI Water premises in either Belfast or Craigavon, working alongside an integrated engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment of foul sewer connection proposals from developers.
Review of engineering drawings and hydraulic calculations.
Coordination and interpretation of CCTV surveys.
Approval of "As-Constructed" drawings for adopted infrastructure.
Attendance at site meetings and inspections as needed.
Engagement in sewer adoption activities under Article 161.
Site feasibility reviews and desktop development checks.
MicroDrainage assessments for stormwater layouts (training provided).
Structural assessment of geo-cellular storage tanks (training provided).Candidate Profile:
To be considered for this graduate civil engineering role, you should have:
A degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline (e.g., BEng, BSc, HND, HNC).
Prior experience (including placement) in the water/wastewater sector is desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
Familiarity with AutoCAD and engineering design software (training available).
A valid UK driving licence or access to transport for site visits.Key Skills:
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering reports.
