Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing Refurbishment
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire (regional hub)
Salary: Up to £62,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits Package

We’re recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's leading contractors in planned maintenance and retrofit works within the social housing sector. With a strong pipeline of projects across Cambridgeshire, this role offers excellent long-term career development and involvement in major frameworks from their Ely hub.
The Role:
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in managing the financial and contractual elements of large-scale refurbishment projects. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your responsibilities will span from procurement and cost control through to final accounts and client reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage pre- and post-contract commercial duties on social housing refurbishment projects.
Prepare and submit accurate cost/value reconciliation (CVR) and progress reports.
Oversee subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments, and final accounts.
Monitor project cash flow and contribute to forecasting and budgeting.
Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled, including issuing variations and notices.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Project Surveyor role, ideally within social housing or planned maintenance.
Strong knowledge of cost control, valuation processes, and commercial reporting.
Retrofit and SHDF (Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund) experience highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and supply chains.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and stakeholder management.
