Essential for this job: Experience of working with people who have a history of substance misuse, and some knowledge of autism would be beneficial.
We are an organisation rated as outstanding by the CQC and we are making a real difference to those we support. We need someone who is also wanting to make a difference to someone else and join Tommy’s team.
Tommy is a young man who suffers from poor mental health and can sometimes take on different personas. He may refer to himself with other names and has a history of substance misuse. You will need to understand this and remain resilient. Non‑judgemental support, patience, and the ability to step back when needed are essential. If you enjoy music, video games or film, you will fit well into the team.
Most of all, you will need to find your own relationship with Tommy. He likes gangster rap, cooking and the finer things in life. Your role will be to see and develop his potential, especially when he cannot see it himself. When he is well, he is funny, polite and caring.
