We are looking for a qualified teacher to support the development of our school, We are a special educational needs day school for young people with autism aged 11-18. The successful Special Needs Teacher (Secondary) candidate will help to deliver a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum and help to develop a therapeutic, nurturing environment set up to meet a range of needs associated with a diagnosis of autism including communication and associated learning difficulties. It is our vision that we will develop into a place of excellence and become a leading light for our young people and their families.
We are looking for an individual with:
1. High expectations and standards who can offer excellent behavioural management skills.
2. You will be working with young people who have complex needs and your ability to develop trusting relationships with the young people and staff will be crucial.
3. You will be able to reliably work to instruction as well as take the initiative when circumstances demand.
4. An interest in developing your teaching approaches and a desire to improve these students’ lives is essential combined with an ability to contribute to the overall development of our school.
5. We believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required.
