Location: Newport, South Wales
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
Start Date: October 2025
Pay Rate: £100 – £120 per day (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an Unqualified Teacher / Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Newport. This role is perfect for individuals considering a career in teaching or looking to build valuable experience in the education sector.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classrooms during teacher absences, deliver pre-prepared lessons, support students with their work, and ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage secondary school classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher.
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons and follow set lesson plans.
* Support students with their learning, providing guidance and encouragement.
* Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with school policies.
* Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, and parents/guardians as required.
Requirements
* Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to apply).
* Two recent references.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (or willingness to apply).
* A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them achieve their goals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
