The Geo-Environmental Technician / Engineer will work for a company specializing in remediation, earthworks, sustainable land regeneration, and the supply of recycled and primary aggregates. This role focuses on subsoil reuse and waste removal from the construction industry.
The Geo-Environmental Technician will ensure quality and compliance responsibilities while enhancing the company's reputation for quality. The ideal candidate will have a solid scientific background, a professional demeanor, and be willing to work on-site. Previous experience in geotechnical testing and an interest in technical oversight and quality assurance for large-scale earthworks projects are essential.
* Capture crucial data at key project milestones
* Manage geotechnical and geoenvironmental data sets
* Check data against site-specific criteria and specifications
* Read, interpret, and understand earthwork specifications and industry standards
* Supervise/manage data collection on-site
* Liaise with third-party testing agencies
* Contribute to project compliance and quality teams
* Schedule testing and maintain records
* Handle purchasing as required
* Conduct in-house sampling when necessary
Minimum requirements:
* 2nd class Degree, HND, or equivalent in Geo-Technical, Environmental, or Scientific disciplines
* CSCS / NPORS cards
* Knowledge of geotechnical and geoenvironmental data sets
* Analytical skills for scientific data manipulation
* Ability to read, interpret, and understand earthwork specifications and industry standards
* Practical understanding of site work and testing/sampling timings
* Report writing and IT skills (MS Office)
* Valid driver's license
