Designer Recruitment is working with one of the UK's largest kitchen manufacturers who are seeking a National Account Development Manager to work closely with their national merchant accounts.
This is a permanent role paying £50,000-£60,000 plus bonus, depending on experience.
You will ideally be Northern and centrally based with easy access routes to cover this role nationally.
Travel: Regular travel to customer branches and sites across the UK, including a minimum of 2 overnight stays per week.

Their kitchen ranges span a variety of price points and are available under the company brand or tailored to customer-specific private labels. As we they to expand their footprint with major national accounts, they are creating a dedicated role to support deeper engagement at both strategic and operational levels.
Purpose of Role:
This role is focused on developing and enabling commercial growth within our national account customers. Acting as a bridge between customer head offices and branch-level execution, the role supports category management, onboarding, and sales initiatives that drive performance across key accounts.
You'll combine project management, sales enablement, and relationship-building to help national customers activate plans, train their teams, and grow their sales of company products.
National Account Development Manager duties:
Develop and implement customer-specific operational plans to drive sales across key national accounts
Act as the central link between the company and customer head office teams, translating strategic initiatives into actionable branch-level plans
Lead the onboarding process for new national customers, ensuring alignment across systems, product, and operations
Collaborate with customer category and sales management teams to identify opportunities and create tailored growth initiatives
Support customer field sales and design teams with training, sales tools, and in-branch activation
Monitor account performance and lead corrective initiatives where necessary
Provide insight and feedback to thecommercial and marketing teams to inform product, promotion, and channel strategies
National Account Development Manager requirements:
Essential Experience & Skills:
Strong project management capability with a proven ability to drive initiatives to completion
Demonstrated experience in account management, category development, or business development
Deep understanding of retail or merchantbranch operations, including:
Sales designer roles, motivations, and daily challenges
Branch manager responsibilities and team dynamics
Experience in delivering training or sales enablement content (in-person and/or digital)
Understanding of head office functions and how to influence cross-functional teams
Confident user of Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to operate effectively across all levels of customer and internal teams
Preferred:
Background in the kitchen, KBB, or furniture industry
Experience working with large retail or merchant groups
