Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Stoubridge
Pay Rates: £30,000 - £35,000
Shift Patterns: 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday
We are seeking a hands on Quality Engineer who is using metrology equipment, 3D scanning and 3D software. Metrology is now a fast pace and evolving role. This role will be working within the technical team to support the inspection and quality departments.
The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detai land will be reliable and committed to the indepth standards, knowledge and comprehension of quality.
Responsibilities:
Competent to perform Dimensional Metrology - measures sizes and distances over an object's surface. It is used to quantify an object's physical form, size, volume, and relational distances between distinct features.
To ensure all castings are inspected according to company procedures and customer requirements
Approving or rejecting both raw and machined castings with respect to quality standards and record performance
Complete a programme for parts to ensure they are measured at each drawing revision.
Develop measurement programmes for all parts. Analysis and Reporting
Customer Liaison
Supporting customer quality representatives on projects
Operate CAD software
Read engineering drawings
Complete gauge checks. Utilise measuring equipment such as gauges or jigs when required.
Assist in projects for thoroughly examine an object and determines its physical characteristics to duplicate them.
Ensuring that the final product meets contractual requirements, ideal specifications, and internal quality standards.
Collect and perform statistical analysis on metrology data to correlate to performance metrics.
Participate in the creation of manufacturing process and equipment qualification validation plans, validation protocols and reports, and their implementation.
Initiate and follow up of Non-conformance.
Extraordinary projects as directed by quality management.
Completing paperwork.
Qualification/experience:
Experience in machining is an advantage.
Well organised and thorough.
Methodical and analytical.
Confident using a calculator.
Excellent communication skills and active time management are essential to deal with customers and achieving project deadlines.
Experience and knowledge with production processes associated with the manufacture of ductile iron turbine castings is preferred, but not essential. As a priority, working safely with tools and equipment with an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.
Must be an experienced Quality Engineer with experience with Auditing, 3D scanning, CMM's and other metrology.
Must be able to read drawings.
Must be able to understand CAD Software as you will be operating it.
