Position Details
CONSULTANT IN PAEDIATRIC OPHTHALMOLOGY
A full-time 10 PA post as a substantive Consultant in Paediatric Ophthalmology is available at the Oxford Eye Hospital. The ideal candidate would have a post-CCT Fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology. Candidates with adult strabismus experience are encouraged to apply. This is a substantive consultant post with 8 PAs for direct clinical care and 1.5 PAs for supporting professional activities, including on-call duties.

We seek an enthusiastic Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist to join our team at the Oxford Eye Hospital, which provides services to Oxfordshire and surrounding regions, including tertiary referrals. The role involves providing comprehensive paediatric ophthalmology care, with desirable skills in adult strabismus surgery.
The service collaborates closely with departments at Oxford Children’s Hospital, and research opportunities are available. Participation in the on-call rota is mandatory. The team includes a locum consultant, a paediatric ophthalmology fellow, optometrists, orthoptists, and trainees.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of registration at the time of interview. Part-time and job-share applications are welcome.
