Senior Project Engineer – Highway
The ideal candidate will contribute to a team delivering roadway, traffic, drainage, and safety designs for state agencies and municipalities. Responsibilities include preparing calculations, layouts, estimates, and specifications under the guidance of project managers. The role also involves leading and mentoring junior and staff engineers, as well as CADD teammates.
The responsibilities of a Senior Project Engineer include:
* Leading an integrated, multi-discipline team to solve technical project challenges
* Understanding project budgets, scope of services, schedules, and development stages
* Contributing to or developing technical and cost proposals
* Monitoring project hours and costs, providing recommendations to stay on track
* Building professional relationships with client peers
* Managing engineering staff and prioritizing tasks to adapt to schedule or resource changes
* Proficient in technical writing, editing, and presentations
* Sharing best practices and improving processes
* Developing person-hour estimates and budgets
* Serving as a technical lead with specialized skills
* Ensuring project quality control
* Pursuing career growth through technical or project management specialization
The minimum requirements are:
* BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE); MS in Civil Engineering (MSCE preferred)
* 10+ years of relevant experience
* Current PE license in NH, MA, ME, or VT
* Experience with multiple engineering software programs
