As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs. Help pupils manage their emotions, build confidence, and develop coping strategies. Support teaching staff in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons. Implement behaviour support plans and encourage positive learning behaviours. Foster a nurturing and safe learning environment where pupils can thrive. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to provide tailored support. Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs. Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
