Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing, and related support.
We have almost 200 services around England and nearly 3,500 staff and volunteers who run them. Every year, our services support around 125,000 people.
Bringing together two large organizations is a significant task, and full system integration will take time. Currently, jobs are branded 'Humankind', and recruitment systems are separate, but full integration is planned for next year.
About The Role
This new and exciting role involves working with men in custody at HMP Deerbolt. The successful candidate will work intensively with men to address barriers to engagement and support their work with the Recovery Coordination Team. The role includes delivering interventions to reduce drug-related harms through psychosocial methods such as Motivational Interviewing.
The ideal candidate will understand barriers to treatment engagement among men and possess the ability to reach those furthest from treatment. Building rapport and engaging men through an asset-based recovery approach, focusing on personal, social, and environmental capital, is essential.
Experience with lived experience is advantageous but not mandatory; we welcome all applicants with the right skills and abilities.
