Description Wood is recruiting for a Black Trades Construction Engineer to join its Operations team, focusing on Convert engineering designs into construction workpacks. Production of construction deliverables to the required technical standards to support and facilitate site construction activities. Provide constructability input to engineering by optimizing construction knowledge and experience to reduce construction costs; improve quality, safety and productivity; shorten construction schedules; and reduce or eliminate construction inefficiencies. This position will be hired on a limited contractor basis for a period of 3-6 months outside of IR35. The position will be based in Aberdeen and Hybrid working will be considered. Responsibilities Scope of work: Deliver construction work packs, giving clear activity breakdown and detailed narratives for all construction activities. Contribute discipline experience to the ongoing development of project work methods, processes and team development. Carry out constructability review of work packs. Feedback any issues to construction lead or relevant engineering discipline. This will include input at scope survey and engineering stage Deliver against agreed planned work scopes ensuring obligations are met by way of timely completion of work packs. Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution. Ensure that all plant and equipment is fully certificated and controlled cost effectively. Assisting with the delivery and timely execution of the project/contract/service and ensure the contract requirements are satisfied. Qualifications Typically minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma / apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience Knowledge, skills and experience: Appropriate level of construction experience in relevant industry sector, construction engineering experience if degree qualified OR trade discipline qualified with relevant practical experience. Good technical knowledge of construction discipline and associated processes. Ability to identify risk to delivery and build in mitigation / contingency plans Proven experience of interpreting discipline documentation. Sound knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments (RA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPS) and Hazard Identification Studies (HAZIDS).
