We're looking for an HGV Fitter / Workshop Mechanic to join our workshop team. The role focuses mainly on skip lorries, with occasional work on mobile and static plant. You will be carrying out servicing, statutory inspections and MOT prep, as well as general workshop maintenance.
This is a practical, hands-on role but without the pressure of diagnostics or night shifts.
Carrying out maintenance and repairs on HGVs -skips and RoRo vehicles- as your primary responsibility.
Supporting work on company vans, mobile plant, and static plant.
Conducting routine servicing, inspections, and repairs in line with safety and compliance requirements.
Completing workshop documentation and inspection forms accurately.
Assisting with monthly mobile plant inspections and ensuring compliance with standards.
Supporting workshop organisation and cleanliness, including tool and equipment maintenance.
Occasionally travelling to other sites to carry out inspections or repairs.
No night shifts.
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Workshop Mechanic, specifically working with HGVs.
Strong mechanical skills and ability to work independently and safely.
Proficiency in English.
Good level of physical fitness to manage manual tasks safely.
Flexibility to support work across different vehicle types (HGVs, vans, mobile and static plant).
Experience with mobile/static plant maintenance.
HGV licence.
Relevant workshop or mechanical certifications.
Hours: Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning
