Overview
HS&E Advisor required. Our client is a well-established manufacturer based near to the Newmarket, Suffolk area. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within an experienced team dedicated to health, safety and environmental (HSE) issues on site. The role involves time split between the workshop and the office to review activities and control risks whilst ensuring operations meet the organisation's safety standards.
Responsibilities
* Assist the HSE Manager to ensure the company remains up to date with legislative requirements and procedures.
* Carry out and record workplace risk assessments.
* Assist with producing and delivering training courses on health, safety and environmental matters.
* Present observations of incidents and concerns relating to HSE and provide corrective action.
* Assist with preparation for external audits in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
* Carry out site inspections and record HSE concerns.
* Complete health and safety audits in line with ISO 45001.
* Occasional travel to other company facilities may be required.
* Arrange external training on HSE matters for employees where necessary.
* Complete health and safety induction courses for new members of staff.
Qualifications
* NEBOSH / IOSH certified.
* Auditing experience in line with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 is desirable.
* Based in a commutable distance of Newmarket, Suffolk area.
* Experienced in managing systems to ISO 45001.
* Previous experience in the manufacturing / engineering industry is desirable.
* IT literate.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience within a role incorporating Health and Safety.
* Strong attention to detail.
Remuneration
Salary £48,000 - £52,000 depending on experience.
40-hour week, Monday to Thursday 21:30 - 07:00, Friday 19:30 - 01:30.
