We're looking for a Senior Patient Access Officer to join our Patient Access team based in The Wilmslow Hospital. As a Senior PAO, you will assist the Patient Access Leader in the management and progressive development of a high‑quality, customer‑responsive service offered by the Patient Access Department. You will provide hands‑on supervision for the day‑to‑day operational aspects of all functions within the team, communicating instructions and guidance to ensure the service delivered is of exemplary standard and meets expectations. What You’ll Do
* Ensure that all administrative functions are carried out to the highest standard.
* Ensure teams are equipped to carry out all tasks and maintain adequate supplies.
* Ensure all patients meet the HCA criteria to enable successful and full financial settlement, whether Sponsored or Self‑funded.
* Seek assistance from Patient Access Manager (PAM) / Patient Access Leaders (PAL) with any complex queries.
* Manage patient waiting areas to ensure the Patient Access Service runs smoothly.
* Support PAL to organise staffing to ensure no gaps in service (rota management).
* Takes on supervisory tasks within the team as required.
* Assist Patient Access Officers with more complex tasks.
* Deputise for the PAL as required.
What You’ll Bring
* Previous experience in a patient access or similar role is essential.
* Previous supervisory experience in a similar role is essential.
* Excellent numeracy and communication skills.
* IT literate.
* Understanding of basic medical terminology.
