The Greenshaw Learning Trust is ‘Always Learning’

Widden Primary School are looking for a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Partner to join our team on a fixed term basis until 31st August 2026. The successful candidate will be working with and providing support for pupils with Special Educational Needs. This role will involve working closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO. We look to employ people with a genuine passion for supporting pupils who experience additional barriers to their learning, to enable them to feel fulfilled and succeed to their full potential. The position will include a combination of lunchtime supervision/support as well as classroom support.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Support the learning and development of children 1:1 or as part of a group
2. Ensure the pupils’ needs are met and liaise with staff as appropriate to ensure the pupils are able to make progress with their learning.
3. To undertake those activities necessary to foster the intellectual and social development of children and extend the children’s language.
4. To undertake those activities necessary to meet the physical and emotional needs of an individual or groups of pupils including children with special needs.
5. To actively engage in the delivery of lessons and activities developed by teaching staff.
6. Help create a stimulating learning environment e.g. preparation of work and resources.
7. Partake in supporting Teachers/SENCO with plans for children with My Plans/EHCP.
8. To keep up to date records and attend review meetings when appropriate.
9. To monitor individual pupils and report problems and concerns to the class Teacher/SENCO
10. Implement learning and behaviour management programmes under the direction of the class teacher or SENCO.
11. Promote high standards of considerate behaviour at all times.
12. To maintain working knowledge of health and safety issues and good practice in specific learning environments.
