Overview
We are looking for a Digital Content Curator – Volunteer to turn student and community material into professional‑quality content that raises visibility, supports fundraising, and promotes inclusive creativity for The Burton Costume Project.
What you will do
* Curate and edit digital material (photos, videos, behind‑the‑scenes footage) from students, volunteers, and events.
* Produce short promotional videos, social media reels, and visual stories that capture our mission and community spirit.
* Design graphics and visual assets in line with our existing brand guidelines.
* Advise on digital content strategy, identifying themes, messaging, and formats that reach wider audiences.
* Support fundraising and partnership activity by preparing compelling visuals and short video pieces for presentations or pitches.
* Collaborate with the founder and volunteers to ensure content aligns with current campaigns and community activity.
* Suggest tools, templates, and workflows to make our content production more efficient and sustainable long‑term.
Essential Qualities and Experience
* Proven experience in content creation, editing, or curation – ideally across social, video, and digital channels.
* Confidence using design and editing tools.
* Strong visual judgment and ability to apply or evolve brand guidelines.
* Understanding of marketing strategy, audience engagement, and accessibility in digital communication.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Ability to work independently, contributing ideas and structure to a small, developing organisation.
Desirable Experience
* Previous work with community arts, education, or creative social enterprises.
* Awareness of inclusive and accessible principles.
Additional Information
The role can be remote, with optional in‑person opportunities in Burton upon Trent for filming, event capture, or mentoring students in digital storytelling.
