I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established manufacturing business, who are looking to strengthen their Paint Shop team with the addition of a Paint Sprayer.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paint Sprayer to join a highly regulated environment, with a strong emphasis on MOD (Ministry of Defence) standards and quality requirements.
The successful Paint Sprayer will play a key role in delivering high-quality finishes on precision-engineered components, ensuring all work meets strict MOD specifications and compliance standards. This Paint Sprayer position is ideally suited to someone who takes pride in their workmanship and has experience working within defence or similarly regulated industries.
As a Paint Sprayer, you will be responsible for:
Priming and applying finish coatings to manufactured items to a very high standard
Preparing, masking, and inspecting components prior to and after painting
Working to technical specifications including MTDS and MSDS guidelines
Ensuring correct paint mixing ratios and maintaining accurate paint records
Baking components in line with material specifications and thickness requirements
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings for masking and finishing requirements
Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment in line with MOD expectations
Ensuring all work meets strict quality standards and production deadlines
Accurately completing MRP bookings and tracking time against jobsTo be successful in this Paint Sprayer role, you will need:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial or manufacturing painting
Strong knowledge of paint systems including stove enamel, 2-pack epoxy/polyurethane, and acrylics
Proven experience working to high-quality standards within MOD, defence, or similarly regulated environments (highly desirable)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong understanding of film thickness, gloss levels, and finishing standards
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to inspect your own work
Basic computer skills and familiarity with production systems
Strong awareness of health and safety within a paint shop, particularly in regulated environmentsDesirable experience for the Paint Sprayer includes:
Previous direct MOD or defence-related project experience
