We are seeking a highly capable Senior Financial Controller to join a dynamic and fast-paced business services organisation. Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, this is a pivotal role designed to act as a strong number two within the finance function. You’ll lead a small, hands-on team and play a key role in stabilising and strengthening the financial foundations of the business. Initially, your focus will be on project work, systems improvement, and data interrogation, helping to drive operational excellence and financial clarity across the group – to then take lead on all relevant statutory duties.
Responsibilities:
·Lead and manage a small finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
·Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and ensure compliance with relevant IFRS standards.
·Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.
·Manage all aspects of tax (direct and indirect), risk, compliance, and foreign exchange.
·Support the Group Finance Director with strategic financial planning and decision-making.
·Own the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting across the group.
·Lead finance-related projects, including system upgrades and process automation.
·Ensure robust internal controls and governance frameworks are in place and adhered to.
·Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as required.
·Provide financial insight and analysis to support business growth and transformation.
Profile:
·ACA or ACCA qualified with a strong technical accounting background.
·Proven experience in a senior finance role within a fast-paced, service-led environment.
·Hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage and develop a small team.
·Strong understanding of IFRS, statutory reporting, and international accounting standards.
·Experience in managing tax, compliance, and risk across multiple jurisdictions.
·Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and data accuracy.
·Comfortable working on systems and process improvement projects.
·Commercially astute, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels.
·Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused with a continuous improvement mindset.
