VACANCY FOR PROFESSIONAL GOVERNANCE CLERK
Each session will be paid at a flat rate of £175. This rate is all inclusive of work required before, during and after the meeting.
Hours of work: This is a casual post. The individual would be required to work ad‑hoc with advance notice.
Responsibilities
* Meeting attendance with minute taking and drafting outcome letter.
* Post‑meeting actions: outcome letters, minutes.
* Liaise with trust and academy staff to facilitate meetings to meet statutory obligations.
* Schedule meetings in line with statutory timeframes and notify all parties of arrangements, ensuring compliance if rescheduling is required.
* Ensure all parties have access to agenda and other meeting papers in line with statutory timeframes.
* Prepare a draft outcome letter and work with the Chair to ensure panel discussion and decision is accurately captured and appropriately communicated to all parties.
* Maintain a secure record of confidential data in compliance with GDPR.
Ideal Candidate
* Good educational background: GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Clerking experience: preparation of meeting agendas, papers and minutes within time constraints.
* Experience working within the educational system.
* Working knowledge of a range of software packages including minute production.
* Knowledge of the law as it relates to school governance and the roles and responsibilities of permanent exclusion process.
