Shift Team Leader
Diss, Norfolk
My client is an established Owner-Operator of a portfolio of Power Generation facilities and requires a Shift Team Leader to manage the day-to-day operations of their site near Diss. Alecto Recruitment is interested in hearing from established Operations Technicians and Assistant Shift Team Leaders to step into an STL Role.

Role and Responsibilities:
Enforce safe working practices and ensure full compliance with SHE policies and procedures.
Manage the day-to-day operational activities and objectives of the station.
Operate, monitor, and support the Distributed Control System (DCS).
Investigate plant issues, identify root causes, and carry out routine and non-routine maintenance.
Monitor and control production costs and understand impacts on power generation performance.
Manage operational responsibilities and delegated areas during planned and unplanned outages.
Ensure the team remains technically competent through appropriate training and development.
Support shift planning and rota cover, including holidays, sickness, and training requirements.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement across processes and performance.
Maintain accurate reporting, effective shift handovers, and meaningful contribution to daily meetings.
Implement, monitor, and supervise Health, Safety, and Quality procedures.
Foster strong teamwork, communication, and effective working relationships.
Provide clear leadership, delegation, and accountability to meet operational objectives.
Motivate and engage the team to promote a positive and productive workplace.
Ensure the correct and safe use of tools and equipment in line with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
HNC or equivalent qualification in an Engineering Discipline.
A time served recognised apprenticeship in an Engineering Discipline.
HSE qualification, i.e. IOSH, NEBOSH, IEMA
Minimum of 5 years in the power utility sector or a similar process industry, such as Chemicals, Manufacturing and Oil and Gas industries.
Must be competent in using the CMMS.
Proven track record of effectively using the DCS to Operate a large scale facility.
Proven track record of excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of IT skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
