MacKenzie King is excited to be recruiting for a Financial Accountant role at an impressive, private equity-backed start-up based in Ipswich. Working closely with the Finance Director, this role involves managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, forward-thinking individual to join a dynamic finance team at a pivotal stage of the company's growth. The role offers a hybrid work pattern.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
1. Post and process journal entries to record all business transactions.
2. Prepare revenue recognition accounting entries.
3. Manage accruals and prepayments.
4. Perform reconciliations.
5. Assist in processing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
6. Post staff costs and expenses.
7. Process payments for daily operating expenses via online banking.
8. Reconcile bank and cash transactions to ensure records are accurate and up-to-date.
9. Assist with cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
10. Support variance analysis and provide commentary for board and management reporting.
11. Assist in collating VAT and tax return information.
12. Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and audit activities.
13. Assist in preparing regulatory returns.
14. Help establish and maintain processes and control documentation.
15. Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and respond to queries.
16. Support ad-hoc financial projects, including process improvements and system enhancements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
* Proficient in Excel and finance systems.
* Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
