Job Summary
We seek a Network Engineer with at least 5 years of experience. The candidate should have strong knowledge of network Layer 2, Layer 3, Layer 4 protocols, wireless protocols, and experience designing and maintaining network infrastructure. A CCNA or higher certification obtained within the last 5 years is required. Knowledge of SD-WAN and SASE is desirable. This is a remote role with occasional travel. A full UK driving license is required.
The role involves static hours from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (GMT/BST), Monday to Friday, and participation in an on-call rota (1 week every 5 weeks).
Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure ensuring high availability and security.
* Troubleshoot network issues across various protocols and platforms.
* Support and maintain cloud WAF.
* Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patches.
* Collaborate with IT teams to integrate network services.
* Implement Meraki, Ubiquiti, and SASE solutions.
* Support incident resolution and maintain documentation.
* Travel for on-site support as needed.
* Stay updated with industry trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Minimum 5 years in network engineering.
* Deep knowledge of Ethernet, IP, TCP/IP, BGP, wireless protocols (WPA3, Wi-Fi 6E/7).
* CCNA or higher certification within last 5 years.
* Basic understanding of SD-WAN and SASE.
* Experience with Cisco Meraki hardware and Dashboard.
* Proficiency with routers, switches, firewalls.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively.
* Full UK driving license and ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Additional certifications like CCNP, JNCIA.
* Experience with cloud networking, automation, security.
* Experience with Ubiquiti solutions.
* Knowledge of network monitoring tools.
