Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Manager for a Residential Children’s Service based in Newport. The salary is up to £50,000 based on 40 hours per week, including on-call duties, with the added bonus of helping to set up a new home. The Registered Manager will be responsible for managing the Home, maintaining high standards, providing leadership, support, and direction to the team. The successful candidate will work with professionals and stakeholders from various external agencies.
You will ensure staff have training plans to meet the needs of young people, oversee staff rota and annual leave, and maintain professional relationships with the team, multi-agency partners, and families. You will support staff in helping Care Leavers prepare for independence and attend relevant meetings regarding them.
You will ensure the upkeep of communal areas, support healthy eating plans, assist with laundry, cleaning, personal care, and provide guidance on money management and budgeting.
You will offer guidance on careers, education, and training, and support young people in staying safe regarding mental health, drug use, and relationships, ensuring medical compliance. You will set standards within the house to deliver a comprehensive service in line with CIW regulations.
Leadership responsibilities include managing staff, promoting good conduct and a positive workplace culture, managing health and safety, and supporting staff supervision and recruitment in line with safe recruitment practices.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
* At least 2 years’ proven experience in operational & service management in a residential setting
* Experience working with children with EBD in residential care
* Experience facilitating, organizing, directing, and developing teams
* Management training and social care qualifications
* Clean driving license and access to own car
