Our Coventry based client are a supplier to the aerospace and defence industries for over 40 years, specialising in producing precision components. They work with a range of materials including brass, aluminium, mild and chromium steels to Inconel and stainless steels.
What’s the job?
As an Experienced CNC Turning Machine Programmer/Setter/Operator
* Programming, setting, and operating fixed head machines
* Interpretation of drawings and 3D digital files
* Produce prototypes / small production runs
* Carry out inspection of your work (CMM and Manual)
* Maintain clean and tidy stations
* Produce work of a high standard by adhering to quality standards to ensure that product is produced to agreed specifications.
* Training Other members of the Turning section in programming and setting machines
* Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues to promote successful teamwork.
Who can do this?
* Relevant Engineering Qualification
* Ideally Apprentice Trained
* Time served / equivalent experience in a precision machining company
* Competent in Fanuc controls and programming
* Strong understanding of Fanuc programs with ability to edit, re-run tools etc.
* Able to move offsets
* Able to prove unproven programs, safely
* Competent in inspecting own work using CMMs and gauges to verify product quality
* Conversant with Lynx and Doosan machinery (essential)
* Conversant with STAR Sliding Head Lathe (Preferable)
* CAM experience (Preferable)
* Multi-axis and sub-spindle
* Working to tight tolerances
* Experience of working with a wide range of materials including, Inconel, titanium, mild steels, brass, aluminium-bronze, bronzes, aluminium, plastics, super duplex etc.
* Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail
* Team Player
* Flexible
