An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Factory Manager to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business based in the Edinburgh area.
This is a key leadership role within a fast-paced production environment, offering the chance to make a real impact in a business that is investing in growth and operational improvement.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the factory, leading multiple production departments and ensuring the highest standards across operations.
This is a highly hands‑on position, with a strong presence required on the factory floor.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing teams across production, logistics and associated functions
* Driving production efficiency, output and continuous improvement
* Ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene and compliance (including HACCP)
* Overseeing staffing, training and performance management
* Supporting maintenance planning and capital investment projects
* Promoting a strong health & safety culture across site
* Deputising for senior leadership when required
The Candidate
We are looking for a motivated and personable leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
* Proven experience in a Factory Manager / Production Manager role within food manufacturing
* Strong people management and leadership skills
* A hands‑on approach with the ability to lead from the front
* Good knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP
* Experience working in a high-volume production environment
* A continuous improvement mindset
