About the Role
We're looking for a
Performance Marketing Account Director
to lead strategic ecommerce client relationships within a fast-paced agency environment. You'll be responsible for driving profitable growth for leading ecommerce brands, owning senior client relationships, and guiding internal teams to deliver best-in-class performance marketing outcomes.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded performance leader who combines deep ecommerce expertise with strong client presence and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Account Growth
* Act as the senior strategic lead across a portfolio of ecommerce clients, serving as a trusted advisor to senior and C-suite stakeholders
* Own overall account performance, retention, and commercial growth
* Lead quarterly business reviews, annual planning, and roadmap development
* Identify and convert opportunities for upsell and expanded scope across channels, markets, and capabilities
Performance Strategy (Ecommerce-Focused)
* Develop and oversee full-funnel performance marketing strategies with a strong ecommerce focus
* Lead strategy across paid search, paid social, shopping, marketplaces, affiliates, display, and CRO
* Ensure alignment to ecommerce KPIs including ROAS, CAC, LTV, AOV, revenue growth, and profitability
* Guide testing frameworks across creative, audience strategy, feed optimisation, landing pages, and onsite conversion
* Stay close to platform updates, ecommerce trends, and attribution developments
Team Leadership & Agency Collaboration
* Line manage and mentor Account Managers, Strategists, and Performance Leads
* Set clear standards for account quality, strategic thinking, and client communication
* Work closely with channel specialists, creative, analytics, and data teams to ensure seamless execution
* Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and development-focused team culture
Commercial & Operational Ownership
* Own account forecasting, budgeting, and margin management
* Ensure accurate pacing, billing, and resourcing across accounts
* Balance client outcomes with agency profitability and sustainable growth
* Contribute to agency-wide performance marketing best practices and processes
