* Diagnose faults on construction and plant equipment
* Carry out mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs
* Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance
* Ensure machines meet safety and performance standards
2. Field Service Work
* Travel to customer sites to repair breakdowns
* Respond quickly to urgent faults (downtime = cost for clients)
* Provide on-site technical support
3. Diagnostics & Technical Work
* Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
* Use diagnostic tools/software
* Identify root causes of equipment failures
4. Customer Support
* Communicate with customers about faults and repairs
* Advise on equipment use and maintenance
* Maintain professional service standards
5. Documentation & Reporting
* Complete service reports and job sheets
* Support warranty claims with evidence (photos, parts, reports)
* Record parts used and work completed
6. Team & Department Coordination
* Collaborate with Parts department (ordering components)
* Collaborate with Service managers and workshop schedulers
* Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and on time
Skills & Requirements
Technical Skills
* Strong knowledge of heavy plant machinery
* Strong knowledge of hydraulics & electrics
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines
* Ability to troubleshoot faults independently
Experience
* Experience in construction equipment
* Experience in agricultural machinery
* Experience in commercial vehicles or forklifts
Soft Skills
* Problem-solving ability
* Good communication with customers
* Ability to work independently (especially field roles)
