The Role
To act as an expert practitioner selecting, assessing, planning and delivering evidence based, nutrition and dietetic care to patients within a specialist field.
In general, to act as a source of expertise for patients, within the speciality, other health care professionals, GPs and Consultants.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC Registration.
2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
3. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
5. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
6. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
7. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
8. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
9. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Effective time management skills.
11. Working knowledge of basic information technology.
12. Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence.
It would be great if you also have
13. Member of PENG/Attendance at PENG course or willingness to do so.
14. Attendance of causes pertaining to dietetic and Upper GI disease and pancreatitis.
15. Experience of working with Upper GI and pancreatitis patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
16. Experience working with a MDT.
17. Knowledge of current Enteral Feeding, nutritional support and ONS Best Practice Policies.
18. Have project management skills. Including – strategic planning, co-ordinating data collection and interpretation of collated data, writing of business plans and other relevant documentation and presentations of any of the above.
19. Be able to guide and develop HCSW staff.
20. Be actively involved in student training.

Fixed Term or Secondment for 12 months

Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Dietetics within University Hospital Wishaw.
