Job Description
Salary: £35,000-£40,000, commensurate with experience
Location: Attendance at our office in Bicester, Oxfordshire, UK is required for a minimum of three days per week.
Position Overview
As the Scrum Master at FIDO Tech, you will serve a critical function in guiding our software development teams towards the full and effective utilisation of Scrum methodologies. Through your expert guidance, coaching, and support, you will facilitate the teams' understanding and application of Scrum principles and values.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage multiple development teams, employing Agile methodologies effectively.
* Liaise closely with the Head of Software Development and Chief Technology Officer, who will act as the Product Owner, to execute Scrum ceremonies, assist with backlog management, and resolve potential obstacles.
* Oversee and supervise proposed modifications to delivery plans; actively engage stakeholders in the analysis and approval process and ensure that beneficial changes are implemented seamlessly.
* Conduct daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, sprint reviews, product demonstrations, retrospectives, and release planning activities.
* Compile and present transparent metrics and performance reports, utilising Jira as the designated project management tool.
Performance Metrics
The success of this role will be quantified through a variety of key performance indicators, which include but are not limited to:
* Effective Implementation of Scrum: Ensuring that Scrum methodologies are adhered to and optimally executed across all development teams, thereby improving product delivery rates.
* Enhanced Team Collaboration: Facilitating open communication and fostering a collaborative environment that empowers team members and enhances productivity.
* Backlog Management: Ensuring that the product backlog is constantly prioritised and updated in a manner that aligns with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
* Velocity and Commitment Accuracy: Consistently meeting or exceeding sprint goals, as indicated by velocity and other Agile metrics, while ensuring that the teams are not over-committing.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrating the ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively, thereby contributing to the overall satisfaction and buy-in from both internal and external stakeholders.
* Risk Mitigation: Identifying, analysing, and proactively addressing potential roadblocks and issues that could impede the progress of the Scrum teams.
* Continual Improvement: Implementing and tracking metrics for the evaluation of Scrum and Agile techniques, with the aim of continual improvement in practices and outcomes.
* Quality Deliverables: Ensuring that the deliverables meet or exceed defined quality standards and that they are released within planned timelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Certification: Possession of a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) credential is required; a Professional Scrum Master (PSM) credential is strongly preferred.
* Experience: Prior experience as a Scrum Master is not a mandatory requirement for applicants, but any experience in this field will be considered advantageous during the selection process.
* Project Management Tools: Experience with project management software is required; proficiency in Jira is preferred.
* Reporting Skills: An ability to provide clear and accurate reporting and metrics to stakeholders is essential.
* Technological Competence: An understanding of technologies such as Python, JavaScript, Flutter, and machine learning will be beneficial.
* Agile Methodologies: Proficiency in Agile metrics, common Agile practices, and service-oriented environments is required.
* Location: Attendance at our office in Bicester is required for a minimum of three days per week.

* Workshop Task and Final Interview: Applicants who successfully pass the screening will be invited to our Bicester office for a 2-hour assessment, which will consist of:
* A 30-45 minute workshop task to evaluate your practical skills.
* A 60-minute in-person interview to discuss your experience, skills, and suitability for the role in detail.
