Prospero Teaching- We are looking to appoint a send teaching to work with a student with ASD.
The main responsibility in this post will be to provide one-to-one support for a KS2 pupil. You will be the caring adult that is available to them at all times to help them develop the vital skills of safe and happy learning, communication and play with other children.
The right candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs and a good understanding of social communication difficulties. You will also need to show flexibility and the confidence to make decisions around adapting a curriculum to best meet the needs of the child.
You will be working with our SENCO and Class Teacher to create a safe and consistent learning environment for the child concerned. The role will require a high degree of emotional literacy and kindness and has the potential to be hugely rewarding as your work will make a tangible difference to a child's life chances.
This is a very rare opportunity in a friendly, small, rural school- a driver would be preferred
This is a part time post with duties in morning and afternoon lessons and at lunchtimes.
Working hours will be 8.45am to 3.30pm with a 30 minute lunchbreak, term time only.
We would consider requests to work three days a week if preferred.
In order to qualify for interview it would be beneficial to have recent experience of working in a primary classroom with a Level 3 qualification or higher. Experience of working with children with SEN is desirable.
We want to hear from you
