Working as part of a busy and supportive payroll team, the Payroll Administrator will play a key role in maintaining payroll compliance, supporting colleagues, and contributing to the smooth operation of the payroll function across the business.
While payroll experience is beneficial, we are equally interested in strong administrators with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of data with precision. Full training and support will be provided to develop your payroll knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accurately input, check, and validate large volumes of payroll data
2. Audit overtime, absence, and time & attendance records to ensure accuracy
3. Maintain and update employee records, including starters, leavers, and changes
4. Analyse payroll data and identify discrepancies, resolving issues promptly
5. Support the processing of monthly payrolls across UK and ROI
6. Produce reports and assist with data analysis and reconciliations
7. Maintain sickness and absence records and support statutory calculations (SSP, SMP, etc.)
8. Assist with payroll-related communications and documentation
9. Work to strict deadlines, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time
10. Provide administrative support to the wider payroll team
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
This role is best suited to someone who thrives in a data-driven environment and takes pride in accuracy.
11. Strong administration experience in a fast-paced environment
12. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
13. Confidence working with data input, spreadsheets, and systems
14. Ability to analyse information and identify errors or inconsistencies
15. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, data handling)
16. Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
17. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
18. Team player with a proactive and adaptable approach
Desirable
19. Previous experience in payroll or finance administration
20. Knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, or payroll processes
21. Exposure to time & attendance systems or large data sets
