Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is a large teaching hospital located on the northeast edge of London, bordering rural Essex. About Us
We operate from two main sites, King George Hospital (KGH) in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. Our expanded facilities include two Da Vinci robots and a Mako robot for Orthopaedic surgery, and a day-case oriented neurosurgical centre at Queens site. We are improving care with new electronic patient records planned to be accessible across seven hospitals managed by BHR and Barts Health.

Position: Consultant in Anaesthesia
Location: Queen & King George Hospital, Romford, RM7 0AG
Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 per annum
Contract: Permanent • Working pattern: Full-time

Responsibilities
Contribute to safe and effective delivery of anaesthetic services for planned and emergency procedures; work within a forward-thinking team to maintain high standards of clinical practice; participate in the ongoing development of the Trust's elective hub and associated theatres and pathways; participate in teaching and supervision where appropriate.
Person Specification
Essential
* MB ChB, MBBS or equivalent
* Fellowship FRCA or equivalent
* Full and specialist GMC registration or eligibility within six months of interview
* Two years of experience managing theatre lists independently
Desirable
* Experience in supervising core trainees and registrars and giving feedback
* Awareness of equality, diversity and inclusivity in the workplace
* NHS experience
* Ability to work under pressure and provide expert clinical opinion for planned procedures and emergencies
* Initiative and ability to coordinate teams
