Overview
Community Staff Nurse - Adult Nursing Services. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is 4/7 days with various shifts within 8am – 8pm, including weekends and public holiday cover.
Responsibilities
* Provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective nursing service to all age groups in the community.
* Work in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies.
* Function as an independent autonomous practitioner to support and enable the district nursing team to provide a quality nursing service.
* Support the district nurse in delivering care to patients within the caseload as a registered nurse.
* Provide skilled nursing interventions for patients within the caseload and manage delegated activity within the caseload.
* Support other members of the district nursing team under the supervision of the District Nurse.
* Contribute to an open access district nursing service that operates 365 days a year, prioritising care to respond to planned and unplanned needs, including urgent district nursing intervention.
* Participate in weekend working and public holiday rota.
* Travel to various locations as required (driving license essential).
Requirements / Qualifications
* Current driving license is essential.
* PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check is required.
* You must have a live NMC UK pin to be considered for this post.
