Make a Real Difference – SEN Teaching Assistant in Edgbaston / Harborne

Schools in Edgbaston and Harborne, Birmingham are seeking compassionate, patient, and motivated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs) to support pupils with a variety of learning, communication, and emotional needs.

SEN TAs play a vital role in helping children reach their full potential. You will provide 1:1 or small group support, assist teachers in adapting lessons, and help pupils gain independence, confidence, and social skills. This is a highly rewarding role, where your support can have a direct impact on a child’s education and wellbeing.

Your Role as an SEN TA

Responsibilities include:

* Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN

* Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other learning difficulties

* Adapting learning materials and resources to meet individual needs

* Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting self-regulation

* Supporting pupils in developing social, emotional, and communication skills

* Observing, recording, and reporting pupil progress to teachers and SENCOs

* Assisting pupils during transitions between activities or classrooms

* Supporting therapy or intervention sessions

* Assisting pupils with personal care where necessary

You will be a calm, consistent, and encouraging presence, helping pupils navigate both academic and social challenges while fostering confidence and independence.
