We’re seeking a Team Lead for Reporting to join our Armed Forces Recruitment (AFR) contract. This is a pivotal role within our Data Management & Insight function, focused on enabling high-quality reporting and data presentation that supports effective decision-making across Defence recruitment. You’ll lead a small team, nurture capability, and work closely with stakeholders across Serco and the MOD to ensure reporting outputs are accurate, accessible, compliant and truly useful. As well as understanding reporting tools and approaches, your strengths will be in leadership, communication, and shaping how the business uses data. As part of this you’ll: Lead, support, and develop a team responsible for delivering high-quality reporting and dashboards. Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear, user-friendly reporting solutions. Ensure reporting outputs are consistent, accessible, and aligned to contractual, operational, and strategic objectives. Guide the development and continual improvement of reporting processes, standards, and best practices. Promote a culture of self-service reporting, helping colleagues gain confidence in interpreting and using data. Maintain key reporting assets including catalogues, dictionaries, and business glossaries. Contribute to the evolution of our broader reporting and insight strategy. Ensure the program can report on key performance measures. What you’ll need to do the role: Leadership experience in any capacity (e.g., team lead, supervisor, senior analyst or mentoring/coaching responsibilities). Experience working with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to build strong relationships and communicate clearly. A background in reporting, analysis, or a related field where information is turned into insight. Working knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI, Domo, Excel or similar. Knowledge of designing and reporting on KPIs, including documentation. Comfortable discussing reporting requirements, data definitions, and visualisation best practice. Ability to oversee technical work delivered by others Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. A collaborative, supportive leadership approach. Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities. A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset. The ability to achieve SC clearance is essential (Includes living in UK for last 5 years).
