Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaged Physician Associate to join the Renal Department within Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. The role will primarily focus on supporting our clinical teams within the context of our two wards; Richard Bright and Patience Ward. The role will have considerable exposure to pre and post transplant patients including simultaneous pancreas and kidney transplant patients. As part of the clinical team you will play pivotal role in the recovery and management of these patients preceding and following transplant in a ward setting. You will also gain experience in the management of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Advanced Kidney Care and a full range of hospital dialysis services.
ard based daycase procedures occur on a daily basis within the department. To this end it is likely that you will initially support Clinicians in the insertion of Vascaths, Tunnelled Lines and Kidney Biopsies. As part of your planned progression within the service we would envisage the post holder eventually being signed off as being able to perform these procedures independently.
The position will also support our Renal Rapid Assessment unit. This ward based service aims to provide emergency review for known Renal patients within the south east London area. It is also a key service for urgent follow up and non elective admissions.
