Job Overview
Support Officers at the Courts & Tribunals Service Centre (CTSC) deliver telephone, email, webchat and general administrative support to court users and legal representatives. Working mainly from the Salford office, you will provide clear, empathetic communication for complex and sensitive matters.
Responsibilities
- Handle inbound calls, returning calls as required and using email and webchat to respond to queries.
- Carry out general administrative duties and maintain accurate records.
- Participate in a structured training programme, including a one‑week induction and subsequent academy training.
- Work closely with a small team, reporting to the Team Leader and following guidance from the organisation’s knowledge bank.
- Occasional travel to other courts may be required.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills and confidence in telephone communication.
- Desirable experience in a customer‑focussed administrative role.
- Proficient with IT and Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Minimum DBS Basic security check required.
Working Hours and Conditions
- Regular hours 9am‑5pm Monday‑Friday, with standard full‑time hours of 37 per week.
- Saturday working on a rota basis (8am‑4pm) may be required for some weeks.
- Flexible, part‑time and job‑sharing arrangements are available in line with MoJ policy.
- Hybrid working arrangements are offered where business needs allow, with a minimum of 60% time in the office.
Immigration and Visa
This role is not eligible for new Skilled Worker visas; only candidates who held a Skilled Worker visa prior to 22 July 2025 may be considered. Successful applicants must hold a legal right to work in the UK and the Civil Service.
