Based at our site in Simonswood, on the border of Merseyside and Lancashire, Puratos are now seeking a Production Shift Manager to join our team.The role is full time working Monday to Friday with flexibility to work both day shift (06:00-15:00) and late shift (13:00-22:00) on a rotating weekly shift pattern, with the need to be flexible in line with business and customer requirements.The site is commutable from the Liverpool/Southport/Skelmersdale/St Helens/Wigan areas.

Responsibilities
The Production Shift Manager is responsible for the effective, safe and controlled running of the Production shift in line with the following KPIs and policies: Safety, Quality, People, Cost and Service.
Reporting to the Factory Manager, the main duties are:
* Overseeing and coordinating all Shift start up / Shift completion activities.
* Oversee and deliver the daily planning of the team (shifts and rotas, task allocation and guidance, breaks, overtime allocation, wellbeing & safety)
* Ensuring the daily plan is met in line with all business expectations and customer specifications.
* Ensuring the factory is operating in line with all food safety, quality, health and safety and people policy requirements at all times escalating any issues to the relevant department head as soon as possible.
* Liaising with all departments, support functions and management team members to ensure the effective running of production.
* Reporting, communicating and investigating any incidences of non-conformances.
* Supervising all new team members including agency workers to ensure colleagues are safe, knowledgeable and aware of all site processes and procedures.
* Motivating all team members to work to achieve the business targets via encouragement, engagement, inclusion and supporting with the resolution of any issues.
* Overseeing the training and development of all team members, identifying any skills gaps or opportunities proactively to ensure business continuity and engagement of team members.
* Representing the Production team in key meetings or visits as and when required.
* To liaise professionally and effectively with all stakeholders both internally and externally (suppliers, customers, auditors etc)
* To deputise for the Factory Manager if and when required.
* To provide cover for the counterpart Shift Manager as and when required.
Profile
Theidealcandidate will have the following skills and experience:
* Minimum of 2-3 years management/supervisory experience in a food manufacturing role
* Ideally 2-3 years experience of confectionary sauce production
* SAP experience - preferably a competent/advanced user
* IOSH qualification or awareness of key H&S regulations
* A natural leader and strong communicator
* An effective collaborator – able to engage all stakeholders and support functions to drive the performance and engagement of the team
